Collage Workshop
Saturday May 23, 2009, 1 - 4 pm Instructor : Vincent Carr Picasso and Braque are credited with inventing collage. Students will use magazine, newspaper and photograph clippings to create original collage works. Students will be using matte medium and gesso to adhere images, and acrylics for color.

Cyanotype Workshop
Instructor : Pat Hunsinger
Saturday June 20th 2009 1 - 4 pm
Using the Cyanotype Process (Blue Print) students will create prints on paper or fabric using found objects, or transparencies. This is an easy to learn process and can be explored in various ways during this 3 hour workshop. Supplies and paper are included.

Clay Portrait Workshop
Instructor: Dan Christoffel
Saturday, July 18th 2009, 1 - 4 pm The earliest known existing portrait sculptures are Egyptian, Greek, and Roman works produced in stone and ceramic. In this project students of all ages will be shown the traditional methods of sculpting the head in clay. Students will also learn techniques for hollowing out and preparing work for bisque firing. Students will learn patina techniques for finishing their work.

Drawing from Nature
Instructor : Joel Koos
Saturday, August 15th 2009, 2 - 5 pm Students will use the Firehouse garden for inspiration in this 2 hour drawing workshop. Observing, plants, trees, and other flora found in the garden students will create original compositions in charcoal and pencil. Adults and children of all ages welcome.

Mask Making Workshop
Instructor: Steven Ceraso
Sunday October 26th, 2 - 5pm Students will make an original mask using paper mache and plaster. Masks can be personalized with color, paint, and other found materials. Adults and children of all ages are welcome.
